Make Your Own Thermal Epoxy

A thermal epoxy adhesive is usually required for cooling a chipset, GPU or RAM. In order to create your own thermal epoxy you will need to mix a thermal compound and an epoxy adhesive. For this, the thermal compound is mixed with the epoxy adhesive and you will have to have an aluminum bowl because it is both cheap and a great mixing recipient. In mixing the weight of the thermal compound is important and the mixture ratio of the thermal compound to epoxy adhesive, that is resin and hardener, needs to be 1:1 by weight. If you choose to add other quantities and for example you decided to add more thermal compound then the result will be a mixture that has more thermal conductivity and weaker adhesive strength. Thus be careful when you are trying to create thermal epoxy.

From this you can conclude that creating a thermal epoxy is very possible. Nonetheless you will have to take some things into consideration when you decided that you want to make a thermal epoxy. The most important part of the process is the mixing because the viscosity of the epoxy adhesive must be very low. In case you added to much epoxy adhesive you must remove it and the only way you can do that in this case is if you use acetone, but it is not an easy process. The last thing you must remember is a very important safety measure that you maybe already know by now. Do not eat or smell the adhesive because the vast majority of the adhesives are toxic and can cause all sort of allergic reactions.
