Industry Metal Corrosion Protection

Metal corrosion protection products are applied on different metals to protect them against corrosion. The most common type of corrosion is rust. When a metal comes in contact with surrounding environment elements like water or air rust appears. When corrosion affects a metal it means that the metal is destructed by the chemical or electrochemical reactions involved in the rusting process. Metal corrosion protection products are most often used to protect steel pipelines and metals used in the oil, gas and building industries, but can be used even in the electrical industry as insulation resins for motor armatures and stators and bus bars at temperatures of 180°C.

For the protection of steel fibers and synthetic materials used to reinforce the concrete structure constructors use polyolefin. In the case of oil and gas industry, metal corrosion protection is fulfilled by a new pipeline pending security system that protects from any kind of damage pipelines or underground assets. Oil and gas pipelines are real hard to maintain because they are covering very long distances and they are exposed to any kind of damaging process, even common corrosion, which can lead to huge expenses and problems.

The new metal corrosion protection system for pipelines is a new technique, needed for all oil or gas companies, because in the past the maintenance of pipelines involved a lot of people personnel, process with low efficiency. This metal corrosion protection technique involves sensing units each having a unique ID that is installed along the pipelines at a depth between the pipes themselves and the ground that make and alarm sound for the operators. These kind of sensing units are software components that can be regularly updated. They work on batteries that can last five years in the wireless mode.
