Using Concrete Epoxy Correctly
There are ranges of epoxies that can be used, from concrete epoxy to aluminum epoxy. Depending on the repair that needs to be done, there is a different epoxy that can be useful. For basic everyday repairs, many people use a clear epoxy to make any repaired damage less conspicuous. This type of epoxy is best for smaller repairs, like on a broken china dish or floor tile. For larger repairs, like concrete cracks, etc. it is best to use concrete epoxy since it is specially formulated for this purpose.
Because concrete tends to expand as it dries, concrete epoxy anticipates this which is why it is specially formulated to be used in concrete repair. Typically you will want to wait for the concrete to be completely dry before attempting to repair it. Also, larger cracks and damages will likely require more layers of concrete epoxy. Between each layer, you have to make sure that the epoxy is dried and that there are no air holes or even cracks develop in the concrete epoxy. If there is damage and another layer is placed over the epoxy, there could be damage that develops underneath, causing even worse problems. Concrete repair needs to be done in certain ways, no matter how large or small the repair is.
