The Use Of Epoxy Sealers

The epoxy sealers are the chemical compounds which enable the joining of components. Whenever they are used, the surface has to be clean and compatible with the respective adhesive. The fact that makes epoxy sealers really useful in different situations is that they exhibit high strength and low shrinkage. They are also really tough and resistant to chemical and environmental damage.

The epoxy sealers are compose of two-part adhesives cured at room temperature, some are thermally cured and thermo set. The applications are also numerous, such as the potting agents, resin binders in fiberglass construction, electrical conductors and various structural bonding applications.

However, epoxy sealers are not all the same. In fact, each of them has its own special utilization. The setting styles are also variable and they include single component setting, dual-component setting, thermosetting, and radiation curing, which include UV, EB and visible light curing. Each of these types of epoxy sealers are used by mixing the two substances, of which one are the resin and the other the activator or catalyst. When the two are combined, they react and cure into a polymerized compound or bond. In order to be able to use epoxy sealers in hard industries, other substances or phenomena are also used in reaction, such as the heat, in the case of vulcanization, phenol, melamine and urea formaldehyde resins in thermosetting, sulfur, silicones, radiations and so on. However, the use of epoxy sealers in the environments is conditioned by the specific rules that apply regarding the surfaces, air and temperature conditions and that is why you'd better take to a professional before actually using one on your own, if you'd like to get the best results.
