Abrasion is a major problem faced by many industries. Whenever particulate matter impinges upon or slides over a surface, wear problems are to be expected.

Belzona® 1811 and Belzona® 1812 are highly specialised composites combining extremely hard closely packing abrasion resistant materials in a polymeric binder. They are used to repair, protect or modify equipment subjected to particulate abrasion and erosion.

Belzona® 1811 has, for many years, been providing solutions to many of these wear problems and has a highly successful track record particularly with coarse abrasive media such as pulverised fuel.

For situations involving fine particle erosion, such as in cement manufacture, or where there is a risk of bridging or holdup, Belzona® 1812 has been developed. Belzona® 1812 uses new generation resin technology to enhance the close packing of a unique abrasion resistant filler system. This creates a smoother but highly durable composite capable of being applied in thinner layers, providing greater opportunities to modify profiles and improve flow.

Belzona® 1811 and 1812 are suitable for use on a wide variety of equipment including:

  • Cyclones
  • Hoppers
  • Nozzles
  • Deflector plates
  • Centrifuges
  • Impellers
  • Chutes
