Since 1972, Belzona® has been at the forefront of designing erosion-corrosion resistant coatings and has established a unique range of site-applied coating materials, capable of providing protection at temperatures up to 180°C (356°F).
To meet the needs of industry, Belzona® 1521 has been developed as a sprayable high temperature coating to speed up large applications to process vessels and equipment. In addition, this system allows for application and cure as low as 5°C (41°F).
Conventional spray applied coatings utilizing solvents or low viscosity diluents offer limited temperature resistance. In many cases, these coatings are unsuitable for use in pressurized systems, where problems arising from rapid depressurization can occur. Similarly, glass flake systems are unable to withstand the thermal and pressure cycling generally found in high temperature environments.
Belzona® 1521 has been specifically designed for application by heated airless spray, offering excellent corrosion protection at elevated temperature and pressure.
Belzona® 1521 provides:
- Corrosion protection in immersed conditions at temperatures up to 150°C (302°F)
- Excellent resistance to a wide range of aqueous and hydrocarbon mixtures
- Resistance to high pressures
- The ability to withstand rapid depressurization
- Resistance to thermal cycling
- Resistance to steaming out
- Ambient curing capability with in-service post-cure
- Application temperature down to 5°C (41°F)
